Stagehand Pro 4: Status Displays
The OLED screen on the face of the Stagehand Pro 4 displays glanceable status information.
When running cues, or sitting idle, it shows rotating fault messages on the first line, and the configured IP Address of the Stagehand on the second line.
When jogging, it displays speed and weight on the first line, and encoder position on the second line.
Booting Up
When the Stagehand powers up, it will display the hardware version and firmware version in the first line. In the image above, the hardware is V5 running firmware 503.
The second line displays the reason for the restart:
Hard Reset — power cycle
Watchdog — the firmware froze (most commonly the final step during a firmware upgrade)
Soft Reset — reset via softare
Disconnected
When the Stagehand is not connected to a Spikemark computer, it shows Disconnected on the first line. The second line displays the IP Address of the Stagehand.
The status Disconnected doesn't mean the Stagehand is disconnected from the machine. It refers only to the network connectivity.
Connected
When a network connection is established with a Spikemark computer, the first line reads Connected. The second line displays the IP Address of the Stagehand.
Emergency Stop
When the Stagehand Pro 4 does not receive a Ready signal on the Showstopper Emergency Stop Input, it will display Emergency Stop on the first line. The second line displays the IP Address of the Stagehand.

Setting IP Address
Press the knob next to the OLED display to adjust the IP Address of the Stagehand Pro.
To finish and return to the main screen, turn the knob to scroll the cursor to select either OK or CANCEL and then press the knob to click on the selection.
Setting Subnet
Press and hold the knob next to the OLED display until the SUBNET setting screen appears.
To finish and return to the main screen, turn the knob to scroll the cursor to select either OK or CANCEL and then press the knob to click on the selection.
Manual Operation / Jogging
From the Connected or Disconnected screen, press and hold either the FWD button or the REV button and then rotate the knob to begin jogging.
Top line
On the left side of the display:
F: — forward direction with a percentage of the maximum speed
or
R: — reverse direction with a percentage of the maximum speed
On the right side of the display:
W: — load cell reading
The load cell scaling can be configured through Spikemark to accurately show the weight being lift or pulled.
Bottom line
POS: — the encoder position in raw encoder counts (not scaled).
The position encoder counts should update as the motor moves if the encoder is functioning properly. Encoder counts should increase during a forward jog, and decrease during a reverse jog.
Reverse Limit
A reverse limit switch signal on the Sensor Input is preventing further motion in the reverse direction.

Overweight Fault
The load cell signal on the Sensor Input is indicating excessive weight and is preventing motion in both directions.

Underweight Fault
The load cell signal on the Sensor Input is indicating an unexpectedly low weight and is preventing motion in both directions.
Usually an Underweight fault results when a piece of scenery is caught on something and the lifting line goes slack. The hoist should stop lest the scenery suddenly become unstuck and drop.

Load Alarms Off
Load Alarms have been turned off through Spikemark. The Stagehand will not stop for Underweight or Overweight conditions sensed by the load cell signal on the Sensor Input.. The Load Alarms can be turned on in Spikemark to re-enable load cell faults.
Drive Fault
The VFD has halted motion in both directions because of an internal fault. Detailed fault information can be found through Spikemark, or through the VFD keypad.
To recover from a Drive Fault...
The Drive Fault message is also displayed when the VFD is turned off. The VFD is turned off during an Emergency Stop. Therefore, this message is also displayed during and Emergency Stop.
Brake Fault
The VFD has detected a malfunction in the electrical circuit that controls the brakes and is preventing motion in both directions.

X-Groove Fault
A cross-groove switch signal on the Sensor Input is preventing motion in both directions.
