# Simple Spikes

Simple Spikes go to a specific, fixed location.

## Why Use Simple Spikes

Simple spikes are just like your spike tape on the stage. This is beneficial when you are returning to the same location multiple times throughout your show. If that location changes during tech, you can simply change the spike's [***Value***](#spike-value) and that location will automatically update in every cue where the spike is used.

### Simple Spike Fields

Simple Spikes have a **Name** and a position **Value**. Adding a new Spike will default to a **Simple Spike**.

### Spike Type

Simple Spikes are denoted with an `=` (equals sign) and only use a **Value**, not a Factor or an Offset.

### Spike Value

To change the position value:

1. Double click in the **Value** column
2. Type in the desired position location
3. Press `enter` to save it.
